Heidi was back at Buen Samaritano today for her first "official" clinic day. She only had a handful of patients, but we have no doubt that things will pick up with time!
One particularly difficult patient was one who was nearly as far along as we are in our pregnancy who lost her baby. Counseling her through her various options hits a little closer to home now than it ever did before.
Yesterday, Heidi woke up about 5am to the realization that we did not have clinic at ASELSI. (The first Thursday of every month there are other doctors there.) But we ended up going to Chichi anyway to discharge her surgical patient from the day before.
We then went into Quiche to meet with Juan Cuc, the man who built the dorm, to pick out some tiles for a planned rennovation to the shower in our bathroom. We'll put up pictures when it's done, but we're going to have a shower/bath. An expectant mother who lives here really misses her bathtub from Houston.
Also, we have our fountain about 99% complete. There are a few little clean-up items, but it's running and working great. Attached is a pic.... Since the dry season is pretty hard on plants around here, we will have a bit more work to do once the rain starts coming again in a few months. But it's work we really enjoy!
We took the opportunity yesterday afternoon to get some ice cream in town and sit next to our fountain and enjoy the dripping yumminess....
Tomorrow we're back to Canilla to see the boys for the first time since we left in December. Hard to believe it's been two months since we saw them all!

Fountain looks great!! It turned into quite a project, didn't it?
Glad you had some time to enjoy it.
All the Michigan Bells had dinner at Olive Garden in Jackson tonight. Were you ears burning?
Everyone sends their love.
Safe travels.
Will be anxious for report.
Love you, Mom
