Back Home

We got back to Guatemala yesterday afternoon and it only took us two hours to get out of Guatemala City. It seems that Houston doesn't have a monopoly on rush hour traffic...

In any case, we got home in time to spend a little more time with the youth group from The Woodlands United Methodist Church. By all accounts, they were a real joy to have around and we wish we could have gotten to know them better. With any luck, most of them will be back next year!

The kids left this morning and Carrie and Abby spent the day doing laundry - 26 sets of sheets and towels. Heidi was at Buen Samaritano and Matt took care of some errands we had here in town.

The Women's Hospital Medical Team comes in tomorrow evening and we are SO excited about hosting and working with them. We have clinic in Canilla tomorrow morning, then we'll drive back to Quiche to meet the team here tomorrow night. Sunday morning, we'll go back to clinic in San Andres, then be back to start clinic with the team at 2pm. They start to operate Monday morning.

We'll do our best to get a bunch of pictures posted as soon as we can from the team. In the meantime, here's one from our vacation that we haven't posted yet...

We are glad that you are back home safe and sound. It must be quite interesting to step from the world of need/labor to the world of plenty/leisure and back.

We have also just returned home from week in condo at Lake Erie. We had a little bit of everything for weather: cool, rain, cloudy, 91 degrees, windy, thunderstorm warning, 85 degrees, sunny!

Enjoyed ride on Kubera's boat to Put in Bay for lobster.

Glad that you are safely home and ready for the next adventures.

Prayers, love and hugs to all of you, Mom
